Zac sent these gifts with tourists from West Australia. What a surprise .... and naturally we just had to put them all on and take a photo. Then we found out they weren't all for us...

Accommodation in London
Lots of searching to find something here. Looking for somethng in central area - not too expensive - that's a challenge! Reading lots of reviews - doesn't fill us with confidence, but we have opted for London House Hotel - for its location ... and reports of cleanliness. Here's hoping.

Lex is very keen some stages of 2007 Tour de France - so we have booked a week's accommodation in Beaune, France http://www.booking.com/hotel/fr/sashenry2beaune.html?aid=305765
Hopefully from there we'll be within manageable distance of some of the race. How we will get around is still up for discussion - which ranges from hire a car - to hire scooters - to hire bicycles... Have to wait and see for that!!

Flights and passports organised. Vaccinations begun - Yellow Fever to come in January.
Started researching places to stay and things to see along the way. Many hours taken up on the Internet ... as well as the many books we have acquired since declaring our trip plans to friends and family. Thanks everyone for the books on South America, Peru and France.
Oh .... and Lex is vailantly endeavouring to learn Spanish. I'm supposed to learn French. Maybe I should download some French lesson podcasts.

Holiday planning
Lex and I have started planning a big trip for next year. After much deliberation, we have finally booked tickets on a trip ... around the world.
Initial plans were to go to South America to see Zac, but then it grew. I have applied for additional long service leave twice!!! So now are plans are to fly out on 22 April - around the world and return to Bris 22 July. Woohoo....
Fight plan ...
22 April Bris - Santiago, Chile
27 April Santiago - Lima, Peru (begin tour with Zac 29 April - 19 May)
21 May La Paz, Bolivia - Buenos Aires
27 May Buenos Aires - London (3 weeks around the UK)
20 June Dublin - Hamburg (4 weeks in Europe)
17 July Frankfurt - Singapore (stop over)
21 July Singapore to Brisbane
followed by 1000km drive home.......
Now all we have to do is fill in the gaps!!
