We'll be spending some time in Santiago, Lima, La Paz and Buenos Aires as well as places along the tour. Lima and La Paz are taken care of with the tour, so we only have to organise accommodation in Santiago and Buenos Aires, and that's looking good also.
Zac's advice is to look at hostels, and with his help we've found some interesting places. Not sure which we'll go for yet, but check these out...

Countdown begins..
Less than 3 months to go so I have this mammoth task ahead of getting fit and thinner!!! Wish me luck. I have already squibbed on the early morning walk twice. In fact I haven't actually started. Will need to be much stronger!
We're back home after a couple of weeks away, and the next few months will be so busy. Lots to do at work as well as at home. Here's hoping this jounal helps me keep on track.

Accommodation ideas for Buenos Aires and Santiago
Spent may hours looking at options. Zac suggests San Telmo or Recoletta in BA - good central locations. Found a reasonably priced appartment in San Telmo - thought that might be a good idea for 4 of us. Talked it over with Zac and he's highlighted other issues. Saying in a hotel or hostel - opportunities to meet people and to get advice on sights to see etc. Sound advice, so now we're looking at other options.
