We'll be spending some time in Santiago, Lima, La Paz and Buenos Aires as well as places along the tour. Lima and La Paz are taken care of with the tour, so we only have to organise accommodation in Santiago and Buenos Aires, and that's looking good also.

They look pretty good for Hostels. I like the intro to Hostel Motango which promises to make your stay amusing and safe. Amusing?... I think you stay there!!
