A day at the markets - but we didn't get far.

Plan for the day was quick trip around San Telmo markets - a mix of antiques and local crafts, then on the bus to La Boca, and if we felt adventurous, try to get to the Mataderos Markets .... further out of the city, and more of a local market with a 'gaucho' flavour.

Had a great day but only managed the first one on the list.  San Telmo markets are HUGE.  They occupy Plaza Dorrego (one block from where we are staying) as well as nearby streets, and runs down Defensa St, all the way to Plaza Mayor.  Blocks and blocks!!!!  Many of the gift shops and antique shops also open.  And as we all know, it just takes ages to browse market stalls and to watch the street entertainment.

We stopped in at a local BBQ, (car park on other days, I think) and had a 'choripan' - chorizo sausage in crusty bread, and were entertained with local music.  Very tasty.
