Camping - Day 3. This is Wild Patagonia!!!

What a night – light rain but sooo windy.  Thought the tent would blow away, or nearby trees might fall.  To our great surprise, the morning was mostly clear and warmer that previous days.
 Not our tent, thankfully!!!

Choices … where will we go today? Options are either one of 2 long walks involving a catamaran  transfer – long day with return trip not until around 7pm.  Other option was for short walk to a waterfall followed by the highly recommended Condor Mirador walk others did the previous day.

We opted for the second choice – much shorter option and back in camp for lunch (a packed lunch provided by the restaurant catering for this camp – and includes chocolates … for energy of course!!)

My turn to ride up front of Peggy – WOW what a day – so much blue sky!  It’s a real privilege to be here in this part of the world – riding high towards the most amazing views of lakes and mountains on such a spectacular day.  Thanks Ritchie.  Life is GOOD!!!

Unbelievable scenery - especially from the front of the truck - every way you look is a photo opportunity - just gets better and better!!!!

Dropped the walkers off for their transfer, then on to see the waterfall.  It was sooo windy, but unlike previous days, there was no icy chill to the wind.  Cool but not icy.  Fantastic views of the waterfall, lakes and mountains.

Next stop – Condor Mirador.  Lex Jeff and I headed off, but sorry to say, I wasn’t able to make it to the top to see the view both ways.  Wind was so intense, and the scree slope a little slippery.  I sat and waited for the boys to go up and pick me up on their return trip, enjoying spectacular views, watching condors soar on high, and watching cloud formations over the mountains.

This is ‘wild Patagonia’ – such a special place!

Last night camping here - finished off the remaining wine around a campfire!!  Great group of people - have really enjoyed sharing this experience with everyone!!!

Oh ... BTW - it was Marika's tent!!!
