Our last outing was a trip to Perito Moreno Glacier. It is massive!!!! We stopped the bus and walked down to the lake to see some of the small icebergs. The glacier was in the distance on the other side of the lake.
Then on to the glacier, the numerous board walks and vista points. What a spectacular place to have lunch!!!! Wish we had brought some champagne to have with lunch.
Spent 2 hours watching the glacier waiting for pieces to fall off. Even what appeared to be small pieces, made LOUD noise when falling into the water - like a gun going off. Sound came through after the ice hit the water - so we had to be watching to see it. Not easy - we managed to see some - but didn't get very good photos.
Then a boat trip to get closer to the glacier. Such an amazing blue colour. Spectacular.
Last evening together - so we went out for a group dinner - to an affordable place. What an interesting evening. HUGE meals for very little money.
Lex had pizza - and enjoyed it too! Also huge meal.
6.30 departure for the bus this morning - we just had to get up and see them off - PJs and all. Pyjama party!!! Sorry to see them go - would very much love to continue on with them.
We have 2 more days in El Calafate, them back to Lima via BA. Adventure continues. It's been amazing!!!!
